Design and Engineering

Our engineering team consists of optical, mechanical, quality, electrical, process and application engineers with expertise in a wide range of imaging applications and technologies. They are skilled in the design of complex, high resolution, diffraction limited, innovative optical assemblies. Additionally, they have years of experience with illumination optics design, optical alignment methodologies and equipment, opto-mechanical tolerance analysis, performance modeling, and stray light analysis.

  • Our mechanical design team works closely with our optical and electronic designers to produce fully integrated opto-mechanical systems and sub-systems. 

    Using state-of-the-art mechanical design software, we ensure that your lens systems are both technically feasible and mechanically manufacturable. By integrating both optical and mechanical designs we ensure the solution built meets all your mechanical and performance specifications. We also ensure lens performance through extensive testing both during manufacturing and after assembly.

Optics Manufacturing

Navitar manufactures superior quality lenses and components including high magnification imaging lenses, ultra-precision microscope objectives, 4K projection lenses, and infrared (IR) solutions. We utilize conventional optics, precision mechanics and world class assembly to deliver full OEM lens modules that meet demanding image quality requirements.

We produce large volume commercial orders and complex, custom-built prototypes - to exact customer specifications.

Automated Lens-Sensor Alignment

Maximum performance is obtained by automated lens-sensor alignment, creating robust camera modules that can survive hostile environments and deliver superior image quality. 

Navitar is equipped to offer actively-aligned lens/sensor modules to our customers in both short run and high volume production volumes at their ISO 9001:2008 and ISO/TS 16949:2009 certified facility.
