Navitar Launches New Zoom 7000-2 Product

NAVITAR ELEVATES PRECISION WITH NEXT-GEN ZOOM 7000-2 MACRO IMAGING SYSTEM
(4th April 2024, Rochester, NY, USA) Navitar, a business unit of AMETEK, Inc. (NYSE: AME), stands at the forefront of optical technology, crafting high-precision lenses and advanced imaging systems that cater to a diverse range of specialized applications. The company’s dedication to innovation and quality has established it as a pivotal provider of solutions that enhance detail, accuracy, and performance in critical imaging tasks, and today Navitar is proud to announce the availability of its next generation ZOOM 7000-2 macro imaging system.
The ZOOM 7000-2 has been redesigned, refined, and optimized for demanding applications in machine vision, industrial imaging, life science and research. With exceptional optical performance, this versatile, close-focusing lens delivers excellent image quality across various magnification ranges. Its robust construction ensures reliability in challenging environments while delivering excellent value and flexibility.
Brett Cannarozzo, Director of Sales at Navitar says, “We are excited to release the ZOOM 7000-2 which is the next generation in market-leading macro imaging systems. When combined with a Pixelink camera it can image objects in high resolution at long working distances. This allows the ZOOM 7000-2 to capture images with increased magnification, crucial for applications that require close-up and detailed inspection.”
The ZOOM 7000-2 features an 18-111mm focal length design with manual zoom, iris and focus, with working distances of 127mm to infinity and is parfocal across the entire zoom range. At 300mm working distance it can image objects up to 178mm in diameter and is compatible with sensors up to 2/3”.
These capabilities are essential for precision imaging across various industries, offering a versatile focal length range and the convenience of a parfocal zoom lens, which maintains focus while changing magnification. This eliminates the need for constant refocusing, streamlining tasks in high-paced environments where time and accuracy are paramount, such as on production lines or in laboratory settings. Additionally, the ability to capture images with a large field of view, means it can handle a broad spectrum of inspection and imaging tasks, from large-scale overviews to detailed close-ups. The compatibility with popular sensors maximizes the system's resolution and field of view, making it a powerful tool for applications requiring detailed, accurate visual documentation without the need for multiple lenses or frequent equipment adjustments.
Cannarozzo continues, “In machine vision applications the ZOOM 7000-2 is perfectly suited to inspect products with very fine details such as in the manufacturing of electronics, where it can check for tiny defects on printed circuit boards, or in quality control processes where the system can detect imperfections on surfaces or components. In industrial imaging, the ZOOM 7000-2 can aid in material science, documenting the texture and properties of materials, or in engineering, where detailed views of a prototype's surface can inform design decisions. Finally, in life science and research, it is an invaluable tool for documenting and analyzing biological specimens, from larger tissues to cellular structures. This capability is particularly important in fields like histology, pathology, and developmental biology.”
The key advantages of the ZOOM 7000-2 include the ability to obtain high-resolution images of small subjects with the flexibility of working distance and zoom functionality. It therefore enables critical data transfer and has the power to drive scientific and industrial advancements.
